What kind of voltage readings do you get? Not running, idle- nothing on then everything on, engine running faster lights on? Good system should read 14+V even at low speed. I have had a problem with my 240 automatic, dont drive it enough to figure it out. Burns up alternators(I'm sure its the reg but I have a lifetime so have always replaced the whole thing). Almost time to park both for winter and forget them till spring. Max

Changed the volt regulator and tightened belts.
Battery seems OK, yet maybe on the weaker side of OK.
The Glow plug relay seems to stay on too long at times.

It can't handle everything on: AC, radio, lights, without the radio
crackling at idle.
The cheapo alt/bat tester goes from not showing an alt at all, to weak
alt, to normal alt function.

I'm wondering if the Glow plug relay issues have weakened the battery.
Next step, replace the relay with an extra I have in the garage.

Would getting it checked at an auto electrical shop help? like a second
