Fragile isn’t the best word; more like peculiar. The electrical things are connected in such a way that if one circuit stops working, another won’t work.
I have a 1961 Mercedes. I seem to remember (30 years ago) that when my low fuel light comes on, the rear brake lights stop working. Bill in

Is the electrical system so fragile that a non working passenger rear window switch could brake the circuit for blinkers, hazard etc?
Sure could use a wiring diagram of the car.
