Re: [diesel_mercedes] made it.

Got the car back today, really pleased. After having to wait while a friend brought the new pads from Spokane.

The mechanic rebuilt 3 of the brake calipers, (other one was new a year ago), Put in the oil filter gasket set I got from Kent, installed the new air cleaner supports, and even fixed the lock-up problem so we no longer haveto park with the steering wheel spokes vertical. My spanish is not good enough to find out just how he did that, he says there was something wrong in the mechanism.

The bill not including brake pads a whopping $3,750.............. Pesos or about $340 US.

He did miss connecting the vacuum line for the door locks, which took me about 10 minutes with the limitted supply of parts I have here at thehotel.

Excellent, thanks for letting us know, I will have to take a look at mine and give it a few drops of oil. What do you recomend, 3 and 1 ? I would think motor oil whould be a bit to thick.

Thanks again,
Steve
