[diesel_mercedes] Cold Wx. Starting

Max ;

Didja adjust the valves recently ? .

Test the glow plugs with a $20 Harbor Freight infra red thermometer ? .

As some white bottle Diesel Kleen ? .

All these are necessary for reliable Winter starting and service .

My 240 failed to start yesterday. It was the third day of really cold, around 10 degrees. The first day I drove it and it started fine. Also the starter did that thing we were talking about a few weeks ago. Mine has not done it for years, but then I park it in winter and drive the Subaru. But now, no snow just cold so I prefer the 240 over the Subaru. Now I am running the block heater for a few hours to see if that will start it, for the last time till spring. I guess I should run the AC to circulate the stuff. Max- in winter

Re: [diesel_mercedes] RE: New Tires

Batteries fail at the first hint of really cold weather. Happened to my
daughter last week. Do a load test on the battery. Volts mean nothing.

Shockwarehouse.com will have the best prices on Bilstein HD shocks ~ no the HD's not not make your Mercedes right rough , it's far to heavy for that .

I won't tell if you want to kiss the Tire Man =8-) .

Here is the trump card when it comes to getting new tires (which I just did). Have a friend who owns a Tire Pro shop and will sell them to you @ cost. If I wasn't married, I would kiss this guy. On the other hand, while in the air it looks like brakes and front end struts are in order. Oh well, January is another year, but I sure like these tires. I call it my wife's early Christmas gift.
