[diesel_mercedes] Window problems

 

My other problem with my 85 300D is the windows. 

I have jumpered from the battery to the connections in the center console. All 4 windows will roll up and down by applying 12 volts from the battery directly to the wires in the center console. I have replaced both sets of window switches with BRAND NEW switches. When I turn the key on, I get 12 volts on the front terminal of the front window switches. Yet, I cannot make the windows go up and down with the switches. All of the fuses are brand new. 

Grounding problem possibly? 

Any suggestions would be helpful.
