Then you certainly should use some relays ! .

There are many available kits , me i'd just buy some of those cube relays and wire them in and run a dedicated , fused hot wire of at least 1.5 MM directly from the battery to the relay , I'd mount the relay on the radiator core support .

If you hunt , you'll find these cube relays with plug in ATCO typ fuses as part of each relay .

The hot wire needs it's own fuse or circuit breaker right at the battery .

I'm using German Hella non DOT approved bulbs they're much brighter and better focused , the low beam cut off absolutely prevents dazzle to on coming traffic as the Germans are not so tolerant of crappy lighting as is the good old U.S. of A. =8-) . these are low wattage @ 60 W high beam so I can still use the original headlight switch .

For those on a budget , simply use # 2014 or 2016 seal beams these are truck headlights , significant improvement and they fit all DOT legal cars & trucks using 7" round seal beams .
