Your MC maybe bad, yet if the fluid looks nasty, you should flush and
bleed the brake system.
Nasty fluid is usually caused by water in the fluid, and when left in
there it messes up the brake components.
On the vacuum boost, check the brake booster vacuum line, before
focusing on the booster itself.

I have had great luck with homemade hangers made by running coat hanger wire twice around through a loop of 1/4" fuel hose.
