Re: [diesel_mercedes] 240 spring start- 240 for sale

If it is still around when I move up to Puyallup, I'll take it. Won't give up the wife, but will you take kids or grandkids in trade?

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] 240 spring start- 240 for sale

OK started up my auto sunroof. I have 7 things that take batteries so I can't keep em all in batteries. Two diesel Mercedes, a Subaru Legacy, a Toyota Tercel 4-WD, a Ford F-250, a Mitsubishi diesel tractor and a Kubota diesel generator. I always have to juggle batteries. So I took the battery out of the Toyota that had actually been stolen from the Ford truck last winter and it had gone totally dead a couple of times over the winter. Not my best choice and small to boot.Anyway I had to jump-start the 240 because the battery was too limp. Started up instantly as soon as I did the jump. Car sat all winter and mostly all summer and since I have too many cars, it sits around all the time anyway. Drove to the mailbox and got to see a very large moose. 240 auto for sale. I am willing to trade.Asking around $2K for this car. It runs super good, shifts perfect. Always starts good. Willing to trade for something(but nobody's wife). We have driven this this car to Cali and back several times. Only problem ever had was a alternator. Max

[diesel_mercedes] spring in the mountains

I'm gonna start one of my 240's today. Might even drive it over to my nextdoor neighbors. About 10 miles drive each way. I should video how easy they start after sitting all winter. Max

[diesel_mercedes] Re : Motor Mounts.

Agreed .

However , there is a diminishing return from allowing an incompetent to continue touching your vehicle after they've not only damaged it but lied about it to boot .

You alls would be flbbergasted to learn the horror stories I know of how to sabotage your beloved vehicle so it drives away nicely but has catastrophic failure once it's far enough down the road not to cause suspicion....

Sad things I was taught many years ago .

I hope to read happy results of your efforts to-day .

I assume all here know that Mercedes has the -BEST- quality hood stars for a surprisingly low price ? .

I’ve heard that the motor mount replacement job is a bit trickier on a turbo Diesel W123 than on my 1977 240D. I’ve got my ramps ready, new 8mm 1/2” drive hex socket for the lower mount bolts and the 6mm for the upper ones. We’ll see how it goes.

They should have to fix it right no matter what it takes, free of charge.  I hope that I don't run into any stripped bolt heads or strip one myself.  I've heard that the motor mount replacement job is a bit  trickier on a turbo Diesel W123 than on my 1977 240D.  I've got my ramps ready, new 8mm 1/2" drive hex socket for the lower mount bolts and the 6mm for the upper ones.  We'll see how it goes.
