I don't know if ' despised ' it quite right but , it's an InLine , DOHC 6 cylinder engine that revs pretty freely and was able to easily propel the big , heavy W-126 Chassis cars along quite nicely .

It's a thirsty beast though .

I see a fair few with broken cam followers , not sure if this is due to DIY works or old age , some DOHC Engines spit cam parts when over revved in thier older age , breaking delicate alloy cylinder head parts that easily exceed the value of the car to repair .
