[diesel_mercedes] Saturday Morning

Saturday mornings are usually devoted to (a) wife doing the laundry, and (b) husband doing small fixes on the cars (for newbies that equates to two (twin) 1983 w123 300d turbo Desert Tan Mercedes. This morning a Palestinian immigrant from Nazareth stopped by and admired my handiwork. Lot's of folks from the middle east are partial to w123 240d's and 300d's as they were the Taxi Cabs they grew up with.

Topped off fluids including power steering (first time in a long while for Mary who was making growling noises, an indication that she was hungry. Then some hose replacements for both cars. And an air filter change for Martha - she did not need it, but one of the cannister hold down buffers was loose and I wanted to look at it. Turns out the rubber had separated so the buffer/bumper was in two separate parts. I happen to carry a few in my trunk, and it would have been easy to just change it out - BUT, I decided to see if Super Glue was up to the task. It will take a few weeks of wear and tear, and I don't really think it will hold up, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
