Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re : A Grand Day Out

Oh wow I forgot about the chowder! Yum.  Ugh as you related the upgrades I flashed about the porta potty's.  Ewww even though back when I hung out there I was part of the surfer crowd, which means our cold drink was beer..I was sober enough to hate those things.  That was, oh my, nearly 30yrs ago. I can't believe they haven't done something different.  I remember the (real, not kit) Cobra's growling down the road on their way to Neptune's Nest.  And the motorcycles and everything and everyone else!  Oh and the stuff written on the walls.

That was our first stop , I bought everyone large clam chowders & we sat & watched The ocean and Birds , Motorcyclists Etc. come and go .

The building is the same but there's been many changes ~ a fancy-schmancy paved parking lot with much needed space wasted on plants and curbstones .

Still has nasty un cleaned porta-potties ~ I guess the management doesn't realize how easy it is to tell if they've been cleaned in a week or two .

It used to be THE place on the weekends. I sure miss cruising just for the heck of it. Here in TX I have to go 4 hrs just to get to the beach. That's the only place worth cruising to...everything else looks the same.
