Re: [diesel_mercedes] Major breakdown

I used to have a '65 Mustang I was fixing up that I took the door panel off, had a 2x4 in there and when I wanted the window up I wedged the board in, when I wanted it down, I moved the board.  It worked fine.  Then I blew the motor and sold the car for more than I paid for it! :)

Max, Don't give up the faith.. You can pull the window and wedge it for a temporary fix. Once the weather warms up, the window can probably be repaired with a few parts from PAP. That is manual window, isn't it. You may can just prop it for a temporary fix. And the real fix should not be hard (a pain in the neck but not too hard).. Good luck.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Major breakdown

I finally had a major breakdown(first one ever) this morning on my 4-spd 240. I had to go to town and my car let me down, let me dowwwn really bad. It was freaking cold and I had to abort my trip to town because the passenger window broke down and would not roll up.Damn, the car was running and everything, I was driving down the drive way, the passenger window was down about 2", I tried to roll it up the rest of the way and it fell down ,all the way down. No way I could drive to town with a stiff wind blowing right off the glacier( I know Tony Knows about this), so I guess I will park the junker in the back 40 with all the other junkers. Crap, I had to drive the Subaru, what a drag. Could ooof been the last time I had to drive the Mercedes. O my, I'm bad, really bad. Max
