Re: [diesel_mercedes] Gotta have a belt first!

For all things "plastic & cheap", PAP's are my drug of choice, next comes ebay. For all things that have to be "right & good", the Classic Center, a dealer, or Mercedes Source, Rusty, etc. are go to people. For everything else, I use Autohaus, Rock, the local European shop, or Autozone and NAPA for cobbling things up. The inquisitive mind will always find a solution if you allow it to percolate.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] Gotta have a belt first!

Oops, forgot that Kevin took the a/c belt off because we used the a/c from my 81 300D & the belt won't fit on the '80 300SD.

I've been researching on Rock, PP, AutoHauz, Oreilly, NAPA (apparently they no longer carry MB parts, in the select vehicle area they do not offer MB any more)

I'm confused as to which belt to get & I can't find it local so I want to get the right one the first time...I have enough oops parts I've bought online and not returned.

Rock: Many to choose from.  Automatically disregard the cheapest $1.95.  Goodyear size is 36.5.  Gates size is 36 7/8.  Acdelco 36 7/8.

Autohauz: 13x925  I'm guessing that's in mm?

Soooo what length is the correct one???  It makes no sense that the brands Rock carries have different sizes.

And WOW I'm looking for the washer water bottle.  I was shocked at the price PP wants!  I'm not on that page any more, but it was something upwards of $100!  I'll wash out a milk jug & rig it in there before I spend THAT kind of money for a clean windshield!
