I'm also having a similar problem. Rear brakes were squealing like crazy. so changed pads - noise actually got worse. Then changed the rotors and noise has gone away. But a new noise ( screeching and thunks) was revealed. Is worse at low speeds.
Sounds like rubber rubbing against something, with regular thunks when driving. The sway bar linkage on on side needs to be replaced. We'll see it that is the problem, but the noise is far too loud for only this to be the cause. CV joints ain't leaking. Will check the usual - flex joints, center bearings.
In the bay area found a parts supplier - they have a large warehouse, and nice pricing, and I can just go there for pickup without waiting for shipping. --- http://www.a-and-f.com/
