I had this same issue too ~ oddly , my few original keys are all worn nearly smooth but don't suffer this obvious low quality defect .
On a non related note : Saturday night was spent the night in The Tecopa Springs Resort Inn right across the road from where you stayed in your nice Motor Home .
I's *so* quiet & peaceful there ! .
