BECAUSE ;
You decided to jump the gun a little bit and hand build your Dream Mercedes Diesel from " Bitsa This & Bitsa That " ~ IIRC , there's early and late trannies , the pans or noticably different , just match up the gasket in the filter kit with what you see under your Franken Benz & you should be good to go .
