For what it's worth, I got the "clip" and the safety triangle for my '91 350SD 10 years ago from a Swiss MB dealership. The part name for the clip is the "warndreiecke halter". You might e-mail a dealership in Europe to airmail you the part. (The Swiss "ersatz tiele" department guys didn't speak English, but the salesmen sure did.) It was like $2.50 when I got it (though the Euro was below a buck at the time). I got two in case I lost one.
I was shocked that the trunk lid, which bounced up vertical like the Buick I owned in high school, suddenly was neutrally bouyant with the warndreiecke attached. Those kraut engineers pay incredible attention to detail. I can't figure out why they delete it for US cars when the triangle and clip cost a grand total of about $25.

But, I now carry 2 or 3 stackable rubber orange cones which (I think) are an improvement on safety over the triangles. But, to be pure I might want to get another triangle just for looks.
