The last of my hood liner is out of my coupe in it's oil soaked greatness. I have cleaned all of the old material from the underside and it is spic and span.
But it is also noticeable loud.
I remember discussion from the board in the past about alternative hood liners. I happen to know where there is some free, thick jute carpet padding. Any thoughts about going that route?

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Hoody Help
Chip,
Thick jute carpeting has the ADDED BENEFIT of being flamable, even before it gets splashed with oil, etc. This means that it will provide you with extra heat as it burns. And if you're going fast enough, some of that heat will get back to you in the cabin.
