[diesel_mercedes] Additional Fuel Tanks

 


Many places made up Aluminum tanks , some replaced the spare tire and are *very* sought after by folks who don't think much , others are of varying sizes and some fill most of the trunk .

I *think* what the original poster was thinking of , was the factory accessory spare fuel tanks that were steel , painted red and designed to use the un used side well of the trunk , these are very nice indeed
and still made , I saw an add for one last year , about $45 IIRC .

Once in a while I see these in older Volvos too .

I'd think one would be handy for a dual tank system as you only need a little bit of Diesel fuel ,to start up on in cold weather , right ? .

[diesel_mercedes] HVAC Operation

 



The system is designed to run the AC compressor anytime the " Defrost"
is used as this way it A. de humidifies and so clears the screen faster and

B. cycles the AC system to lubricate the compressor and keep the seals from leaking.

I can only say that my A/C & heaters are independent thinkers when it is cold out. I suspect I could fix it if I had to, but I wear cold weather clothing + I am lazy.

I've seen those come through the San Jose PAP, though not recently.  The ones I saw used up most of the trunk space, not just a corner, used to wonder if the car so equipped had air suspension or some such, had to be a lot of extra weight in the trunk..

Seems that I saw one adverted in fatty wagon or one of those guys - but it was pricey as I recall. Let us know what you find out.
