I thought this was a topic recently, but upon a search I was unable to find anything.
Has anyone put on a skid plate to protect their oil pan?

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Oil Pan skid plate
Trish,
On European 123s, a skid plate was standard. Nate has one on his 300TD wagon (Euro delivery).
Try to find one in a p-a-p yard. Scarce as hen's teeth. I've never seen one on a 126, but Nate and I are talking about the idea, given how badly worked over most 126 oil pans seem to be.
Nate put the NEW oil pan on my 300SD this afternoon, with a new gasket. I've got almost 100 miles on it already and no drippage apparent.
