If the fan blows out of the wrong holes, it's vacuum. If you have to punch the defrog button to get the fan going, and then it subsequently continues to run in the other settings after you get it started, that's an electrical problem with the fan. I think the defrog button sends the largest spike of juice available to the fan motor which kicks it going, and then it will keep spinning on kinetic energy and less juice from there. From what I have read in the peachpart forums, this is frequently caused by worn out brushes in the motor.
I emailed back and forth with George today. He has brushes for $29 a set.
