Re: [diesel_mercedes] Two issues and one comment

I had the same double window failure earlier this year, and it ended up
being a bad fuse, though it looked fine. I decided to replace all the
fuses with copper ones I had bought, as well as brush the fuse block. If
it was just one window not working, I'd check the switch, yet both
points to the fuse.

For the water leak, have you checked the car when hot? If the radiator
hoses all look good (remember the little hose from the block to the
head), check: the radiator drain plug, the over flow hose, the overflow
tank (cracks), the water pump (there's a drip hole underneath), as well
as the heater hoses. If it's just a small leak, some stop leak might
work just fine, just put it in and drive for the recommended amount of
time, to distribute the sealer throughout the system.

You can check the water in the system, 1st by squeezing the upper hose
(when not too hot), and watching/ listening for a sloshing in the
overflow tank, and 2ndly remove the upper hose to inspect and fill.

I refill the overflow and it stays steady at 80 for another 600 to 1000 miles. A wonderful little game. I can not find the leak yet.
