Chuck, I haven`t noticed one on a MB, but on my Nissan truck that is
a vapor tank. Its purpose is to prevent fuel vapors from being
released to the atomsphere. The EPA requires it but you MB doesn`t.
You could plug the hoses and it should run fine. If you get a picky
inspector, he may demand it. I wouldn`t think a diesel needs one as
much as gas car, since diesel is not as volitile(SP?). Bobby
