My 1982 300cd diesel turbo coupe is having slippage issues. If I drive the car very attuned to the shifting, it will walk through the gears without a slip, but if I am not paying attention I will get slipping and the engine trying to rev between shift up's #1 and #2.
I can also really stomp on the throttle and I get perfect shifts all the way up the shift cycle.
I have checked the fluid level and that is all OK. As you may remember, this has been with my shade tree mechanic back in NC so there is a chance I have vacuum shit going on, but I am not sure.
Everything else works great with the car and the engine has never run better. I do have vacuum leaks and the door locks have never worked properly.
So, what's up with the transmission? Any hope this is vacuum related or maybe the modulator valve?
