There is a special tool that mechanics use, but you can buy it (or maybe rent one from Autozone?). My reason for replacing my half shafts is that they are 250,000 and 300,000 miles on them. So, it is not just about greasing up the joints. I want to ultimately replace everything that is rubber, plastic, or that wears out over time as just a part of my normal maintenance like changing the oil.
