If you have been priming it like a teenage boy in the head with a girly magazine the priming pump may have a crack in it. The one on my old 83' TD was plastic and had a hairline crack in it that I couldn't see, and went out on me shortly after changing out the fuel filters. Also when priming keep it up until you get a steady flow of fuel from it, I had a tendancy to not prime it long enough to get all the air out of the line.
