I bought replacement antennas off fleabay for around $20 as I remember and they work fine. If they need adapters they must come with them because I don't remember having to search for adapters anywhere. They also come with a variety of rigs for fitting various size holes in fenders, so you can mix-n-match a setup that works for your car.
