Rodger--you are correct. One of the best tools for a diesel Mercedes owner to have is a Mityvac or equivalent hand vacuum pump, available a lot of places including Harbor Freight. Use golf tees to plug off individual lines as needed for temporary fixes until you get to the leak. The vacuum diagram for your car is available and may also help. I think Performance Parts may have it onlne.
