I use mine at every fuel filter change. Only takes a few strokes so it doesn't get used to excess either. I checked the parts houses like Diesel Giant, Autohausaz, Peachparts, Mersedessource, etc & there are none of the old style available anywhere. The newer black handled version is listed as the replacement part so the only place to get the old ones may be PAP yards or Ebay, Amazon etc.

I agree, a good used primer pump from a PAP is my choice, or a new one over the internet. The new black ones look pretty, but they don't squirt enough juice for my taste. I like the old white knurled ones. I use them rarely so it is not like I am going to wear one out. Typically, it is when you run out of fuel, and I just don't do that anymore.

As I said before ;
Although one only has to hand prime the IP infrequently if ever , I vastly prefer the white knob one , it pumps more but also makes a mess with each stroke and if you forget to screw it closed , it'll beat itself to death in sort order .
