[diesel_mercedes] Re: battery/headlight/alternator

Thanks to all. I checked the alternator, and the belt and the (pulley?)the wheel the belt turns on the alternator was turning. The repair shop hooked up a tester and it showed the battery good, but the alternator zero. So I bit the bullet and had a new alternator put in.

I think I am going to stock one of those Bosch voltage regulators, for the next time the battery stops charging. And I am going to look for that tester. I already have a battery charger, which is how I got to work in the AM, but needed a jump to get home. And before I made it home, the radio, fan, and dashboard lights, gauges, brake lights headlights and speedo stopped working. so the next morning I took it in, for the test and work.

Thanks to all.

Jumped it and will probably have to jump it to get home tonight. I put in a sylvania super bright twice the price bulb. $19 vs $9 for the cheap one.
