[diesel_mercedes] mileage
I've been tooling around for more than a year with my radio antenna stuck all the way up. A couple of weeks ago, some mutt finally snapped it. The internal nylon string kept the top part from falling away, so it's been dangling about 2/3 of the way up as I drive.
Today, I went out to Nate's house where he has a stash of the things. We put one in that is working properly. Ta Da!
On the way home, I filled up. 398 mi. / 14.561 gal. = 27.333 mpg. Not bad for a big car, working its way up to the 351,000 mile mark, while lugging 300 lbs of ME, plus a 3-drawer tool box, small tool box, and various spares and camping supplies in the trunk. Of course, I rarely go much over 70 mph.
Gotta love these old tanks.
