I saw a Vespa toodling down a main drag today, and I thought - if everyone used such a thing for around town trips (say 10 mile radius from home base), we would decrease our need for gasoline by 90%. My wife is not excited about riding one to work, but it could be a great Christmas Gift for her.

Lately, I've been looking at my BMW moto '80 R100RT, and thinking I
should ride this more often with the fuel prices as they are. I don't
know what it exactly gets for mileage, as I always steal gas from it to
run the wood chipper et al, yet obviously a lot better then the MB.
