Re: [diesel_mercedes] Doing some R&D need your help

I found a page on this web site telling me it would damage the engine, what could happen? If I try could the engine be damage past repair? I only have 140.000 on this engine it is gutless and need one more gear I was thinking of a rebuild and putting in a small truck with a standard behind stand maybe a gear vender over drive it is a over and under gear set up hoping that the lighter truck and then some mod's that are out there for diesel engine I could make a truck that may get 40to 50 miles a gallon what do you think can it be done or I'm I over thinking this?

The non-turbo engine has 23:1 cr, the turbo engine is 21:1, I think the difference is in the pistons..

Hi guys
I just found my self buying a 1979 300d 123
and then I found a turbo set up all the parts are there everything off a 79 turbo 300D what's the chance I can put it on my car with not a lot of trouble.
Is there a big difference between the two engines? Please someone give me some good news. Thank you for any advice you could give.
