[diesel_mercedes] Whoops- different trannys

 

My mom blew her trann on her SD, not sure of the year, so I dropped it and then just got done dropping my dads tranny from his parts car which is an 83 SD, and noticed the driveshafts are different. The one from my moms car has spindles, and the one from my dads has a smooth nub.
This is my first try at transmissions- are we just out of luck?
Should I swap flywheels? Should I swap torque converters?
Little help, please.
