I have an 87 300TD. I lost all my forward gears. I suspect a broken B2 Piston. I want to remove the B2 without removing the transmission from the car. The car has is up on stands. I have removed the 4 bolts on the cross bar that holds up the transmission. In order to drop the transmission further in order to access the B2 Piston cover I believe I need to disconect the transmission from the drive shaft. This is accomplished by undoing the flexidisk bolts.
My question is is this correct?
Where do I place the floor jack under the transmision. Currently it is under the transmission mount, but I need to move jack somewhere else to get clear access to the flexidisk bolts. If I place the jack under the Transmission pan I fear I will damage it.
