Several comments/answers:
1. I also use the internet extensively while full timing and have the
Verizon Air card for my laptop. In the past 3 years their coverage
has expanded greatly. I now get reception just about everywhere we
are. Including some way out places. I have had air card internet
connection where the cell phone had no signal. When I signed up with
Verizon was told I could suspend service on a monthly basis, if I
didn't need it.
2a. I've had MHs' on Freightliner/Cat and Sparton/Cummins both
excellent.
The Cat was 300HP 860 lbs of torque at cruise of 60mph I
averaged
about 8.6 mpg over 120,000 miles.
The Cummins ISL has only 26000 miles and is getting 7.8 mpg which
should improve after break in.
b. We went from 1 slide to 4 slides, DW is much happier with 4 and
going from 38' to 43'. Slide operation and realiability is a function
of the manufacturer.
c. The current MH has a TAG axle, which provides greater stability
and I think a better ride. With the TAG axle and 4 slides I have lost
storage area in the bays. MHs' are a trade off.
While we had a house I did my own oil changes/lube etc. Now full
timing I only handle the lube between oil changes. I have started
using Speedco and am very satisfied with them the last oil change/lube
was $160 and took 30 min.
After we sold our house we put those must keep items in storage with
PODS, every thing was just "stuff".
As for a finiancial transisition I don't share your apparently dark
view of the future unless the soicialists gain power.
