Well, I grew up in So. Cal., and I dont think its relative at all. When  it gets really cold , stuff starts happening, or not happening. One day  it was -20 and my truck had a flat tire(first one in years, go figure),  I had a four way tire star, put it on the lug nut and twisted and the  thing just snapped.  But about starting your car. I would think if you  had it plugged in all day and it would not start at zero, you got a  problem. Check you block heater somehow. Any diesel fuel sold in a cold  climate has to be winterized or the whole area would come to a sudden  stop. Your fuel is probably formulated for down to -40. When my boy was  going to school in Bozeman Montana, he had the 240. The school would not  provide any parking with ele. outlets, when I asked them why, they told  me diesel cars and Montana winters dont mix, buy him a gas car.. It got  to -40 that year there, or course it does every year in Montana. Good  luck starting your car and the days are getting longer. Max
