I got the lift pump gasket (diaphragm) from Cummins.
Cummins put a bulletin out in November 2006 regarding the problem. It has a number, Topic Number 06T5-18. It is a seven page bulletin. It deals with ISX, ISC, & ISL engines. There are numerous part numbers depending upon the serial number of the engine and their manufacture date.
My copy was faxed to me by the Tampa Cummins store. Unfortunately the copy is not good enough to upload to this forum. Incidentally this was sent to me at the same time the Jacksonvile Cummins store was telling Jim & Karen that there was no fix for their lift pump, and this may be true because Cummins did go to a non-repairable pump and they may have had one of these.
Since the bulletin was seven pages, it is highly unlikely anyone read it. I had to give the number to the Tampa store to get them to send it to me. The parts man had not seen it before. I got it from someone in Alabama who responded to general inquiry that I had put on the internet.
